What to Eat When you Lose Weight with HCG

Diet is an important factor when it comes to weight loss. It is usually the diet portion of the program that will make or break the weight loss plan. Weight gain comes primarily from more calorie intake than calorie burn. Foods that are high in fat and low in fiber are generally the culprits. Foods that are high in calories, fat, salt and sugar should always be the exception rather than the rule when planning a healthy diet.

A diet for HCG purposes must be low in calorie, as directed in the meal plan. There are a number of foods that are considered weight loss friendly as they help optimize weight loss through maximized calorie burn. Foods high in fiber will allow the weight loss participant to feel fuller longer and help to avoid loading the meals with extra calories and between meal snacking. Fruits and vegetables are both high in fiber and water content and low in calories. A salad made with 10 cups of spinach and 1-1/2 cups of strawberries contains the same number of calories as a small order of French fries. At 225 calories, the salad will be more filling than the French fries.

A surprising fruit feature is avocado and the ideal compliment for a weight loss meal plan. Even though Avocado’s are somewhat high in fat, they are a proven appetite suppressant because of the monounsaturated fats. Eating Avocados is also another way to lower harmful cholesterol levels. Protein is known to satisfy an appetite and lean protein is a tremendous food to help with calorie reduction while maximizing the quantity of food that can be consumed to satisfy an appetite. High protein meals are more effective with weight loss because of the lower calorie count than consuming smaller but more frequent meals with less protein volume. Fish, chicken and turkey breasts without the skin are the best sources of protein in a weight loss HCG diet.

It is important to include whole grains in a meal plan when choosing foods for weight loss. Whole grains rank high on the list, as they are lower in calories than most other foods. They are also high in fiber which is ideal for giving the feeling of fullness after a meal. When consumed in the right proportions, whole grains will help to lower cholesterol and that is an added benefit when using HCG as a weight loss tool. Whole grains are not harsh as the word “grain” may seem to imply. A few excellent examples of whole grains include oatmeal, barley, brown rice, whole wheat bread, pasta, waffles, English muffins and pizza crust.
